Snouts & Tails Game

Here's a game sheet with 9 game boards drawn and ready to be printed for play.  Problems printing?

What in the world is the Snouts & Tails Game and how do you play it?

Snouts & Tails is our variation of Tic Tac Toe. Here are the rules:

- You use Snouts and Tails instead of X's and O's.
- You try to get as many "3-in-a-rows" as you can in one game.
- During the second turn for each player they are not allowed to put a Snout or Tail on the board that touches the square where they placed their first Snout or Tail. (See Unacceptable Game below for an example.)
- After the second turn each player can place their Snout or Tail wherever they want.
- If you place a Snout or Tail in a square and it makes "3-in-a-row" in more than one direction, you get one point for each "3-in-a-row" you make.  See Acceptable Game below for an example.
- The winner is the one with the most points. What if we have a tie?

Those are all the rules.  Samples of an acceptable and unacceptable game are demonstrated below .  HAPPY OINKING!!!

TIE BREAKER:

Determining who wins when the score is tied is simple. Just count the number of Snouts, then the number of Tails, that are unused for any "3-in-a-row". The player with the fewer number of unused plays is the winner.

So in the game shown to the right, Snouts had 2 unused squares and Tails had 3 unused squares.

(Game ends in a tie)

UnusedSnout.gif (1275 bytes)
(2 unused Snouts)

UnusedTail.gif (1101 bytes)
(3 unused Tails)

Therefore, Snouts WIN!!!!

OK, but what if we're still tied after that?
    Then it's a tie.....play another game!!!

Printing Tips:

bulletIf your game sheet doesn't fit on one page, adjust your top, left and right margins in Page Setup to .25" and your bottom margin to .55"
